Instructions

1. Set the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a bowl and set aside.

3. Put butter in a bowl and melt it at medium-low temperature until it turns into an almost clear liquid state (do not boil). Add the brown sugar and mix some more until combined. Then add half of the condensed milk. Heat up again until everything is melted together.

4. In another bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and vanilla paste and add it to the melted butter and sugar. Mix for about 2 minutes until everything is well combined.

6. Pour + mix all the batter until it turns into a smooth consistency (you can use your hand to mix it if needed). 

7. Drop some batter on the parchment paper (how much depends on your cookie sheet size). 

8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes or until it turns golden brown. 

9. Note: You can add a bit of butter or oil to your hands if you want to easily remove the brigadeiro cake off the parchment paper once cooled down a little bit.

10. Let it cool down completely before removing it from the cookie sheet.

11. Heat the oil (or butter and coconut oil) at medium-low temperature.

12. Place a plate on your countertop and pour some of the batters in a small funnel. Use a spatula to spread it until it looks round.

13. Put the brigadeiro cake into the oil slowly while shaking it back and forth slowly, making sure that all the sides get well coated with oil. 

14. Remove brigadeiro cake with a plate and then place the container on a cookie sheet on the countertop to catch any oil that may come out.

15. Continue with the batter and place them into the oil in layers. Allow it to cook for 5 minutes until they turn golden brown.
